Understanding the Context
Cutaneous ulcers typically present on the limbs and are seen more frequently in children. Both chancroid and cutaneous ulcers usually resolve with antibiotic therapy. Chancroid is traditionally considered a sexually transmitted infection caused by the fastidious, gram-negative coccobacillus . It is most common in resource-limited countries and rare in North America and Europe.
