BTW, is there any information on how the "feel" of the ALS related fasciculation feel different compared to radiculopathy, or BFS? As much as I can read, it says ALS would be in all areas, and *follows* muscle weakness, i.e. that it does not start with twitches and then muscle weakness etc.

Understanding the Context

Is there any confirmed information source on this? I believe I have cramp-fasciculation syndrome since my colon resection surgery in May 2019. I have muscle twitching primarily in my legs, but all over at times, along with severe leg pain. Has anyone here had BFS with more of a localized muscle twitch and not widespread?

Benign fasciculation syndrome (BFS) Posted by captainanxiety8 @captainanxiety8, Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I'm really not sure how to interpret what's going on.

Final Thoughts

I'm 40, have had random twitches now and then around my body for a few years and ignored them. The benign fasciculation syndrome symptoms occur mostly as I drift off to sleep, Twitches/pops occur in different areas of my body, occasionally initiating movement. The muscle twitches are worse at night when I'm lying in bed, and also when I'm quietly sitting down reading or watching television. I don't notice them so much when I'm actively moving around during the day, walking, swimming, gardening, etc. Has anyone else experienced anything like this ? What was the diagnosis ?

+ (show) Hi, @keithl56 @rmfmayo @johnsmith1980 and @johnbishop. I merged the 2 discussions about benign fasciculation syndrome and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) into one to bring everyone together on the topic. Yes! I was diagnosed last year with Cramp-fasciculation syndrome and I often have the shin splint pain, especially when drive.
